Digital Selective Calling or
DSC is a standard for sending pre-defined digital messages via the
medium frequency (MF),
high frequency (HF) and
very high frequency (VHF) maritime radio systems. It is a core part of the
Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS).
